EDITORIAL.ID – The Special Presidential Envoy for Energy and Climate, Hashim Djojohadikusumo, revealed that President Prabowo Subianto frequently confides in him regarding the implementation of current government programs. According to Hashim, his older brother assesses that while many programs have noble goals, their execution on the ground is still far from perfect.
This was conveyed by Hashim while delivering his remarks at the launch of the Carbon Unit Registry System (SRUK) in Central Jakarta on Thursday (July 9, 2026).
Hashim, who is President Prabowo’s biological younger brother, shared that these interactions often occur privately. Prabowo is also said to frequently share similar views with other parties, including the Chairman of the Gerindra Party Faction in the Indonesian House of Representatives (DPR RI), Budisatrio Djiwandono.
”I am often invited to speak with the President of the Republic of Indonesia, who is also my older brother. He confides (curhat) in me a lot, perhaps he confides in Budi (Chairman of the Gerindra Party Faction in the DPR RI, Budisatrio Djiwandono) as well. The programs are good, the goals are good, noble, but along the way, the implementation is less than perfect,” Hashim said, as quoted by CNN Indonesia.
Nevertheless, Hashim did not elaborate further on which specific programs the President was referring to. He simply emphasized that these complaints were not a one-time occurrence but had been expressed by Prabowo on several occasions.
”We have witnessed it, there is no need for me to name them, we have seen several good programs, but the implementation is lacking. Yes, Mr. Prabowo confides in me very often,” he added.
In addition to highlighting the effectiveness of the programs, Hashim mentioned that during these discussions, President Prabowo also frequently pays special attention to bureaucratic issues in Indonesia, which are still considered unsatisfactory. (FikA)
